Design committee.

The neighborhood has an association of sorts, there are five houses in the "development", the oldest having been built in the 1940's, the newest in 2003. There are certain covenants and design specifications that must be met and approval must be granted. For instance - previously all roofing had to be done in shake. Shake is expensive and is not that great of a roofing material in comparison to what is available these days. Luckily one of the other owners had their shake replaced with asphalt shingle a few months ago, thereby paving the way for us to do the same.

There are two members on the approval committee. One of them is the owner who is trying to sell us the lot. This is what we submitted to them. Approval granted.
