Stucco in the Northwest?

Apparently stucco is not high on the list of materials used on the exterior of houses in the Northwest*. Moisture-intrusion and mold being the main problem, as well as a penchant for Arts and Crafts style houses, which don't come in stuccoed varieties.

There goes my dream-house - Spanish or Mediterannean style - stucco with a tile roof, courtyard, arched front door...


* They do make a stucco-look type exterior veneer here or they can cure and flash the stucco appropriately to handle the conditions here. But as it goes, those techniques are not in our budget.
